Team Storm off to a Flyer   5th April 2010

After a long cold winter in Nebraska, Matt Vineer and Luke Benford could not wait to play in the first tournament of the season for Southeast Community College in Hastings. The 18 hole event saw Matt finishing tied for second and Luke tied in first place. Team Storm won the event by two shots over the Hastings home team.

The second tournament was a 36 hole event staged over two days at their home course, Beatrice Country Club. Day one saw Team Storm trailing by one shot from Kansas City Community College in 45mph winds. Day 2 of the event saw all five team members shooting low scores. Matt shooting a 77 and Luke shooting a 76 on the par 72 course. The combined team score over the two days was 612, with only four of the five team members scores needing to count. This would be enough to beat second place Kansas City College by 16 strokes overall. All five members of Team Storm finished inside the top 10 and were rewarded with individual medals.

Team Storm remain unbeaten for the season and have a demanding schedule ahead of them with three 36 hole tournaments within the next 10 days. Log on to find out how they do in the next two weeks.
