With 34 years of coaching experience, Pete has built up the knowledge to deliver well structured and effective coaching sessions for all abilities of player. His accreditations and achievements as a professional identify that Pete is devoted to the long term development of golf tuition. He has trained a number of professionals to work alongside him, who are both invaluable and assets to Barton-on-Sea Golf Club.

John Bullen

John has been working for Peter Rodgers Golf Limited, as Peter's PGA Head Assistant Professional since 1999, and recently also became his Head Club Fitter.  Before that, they worked together for 3 years, Pete as the PGA Head Assistant, while John was completing his 3-year PGA qualification, under the Head PGA Professional at the time, Pat Coombes.

Before joining Barton, John first had a taste for the golf club industry working at Sudbury Golf Club in Wembley, working with European tour coach, Neil Jordan.

With 29 years teaching experience, John has developed his own style and coaching philosophies to adapt to all levels of golfers.  His passion and knowledge for teaching all aspects of the game, have earned him a good reputation across the county.

Whether it be long or short game information you require, John offers 30 min or 1-hour lessons.  Video analysis is also available in our indoor studio.

Josh Caffyn

I am a year 1 PGA trainee, starting year 2 of my PGA training in October 2025. I have been a member at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club since the age of 9 years old. Overall, I have been successfully competing at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club throughout the years winning Junior Club Championships, Men’s Club Championships 4 years in a row, while holding the course record around Stroller/Becton (64). I also have represented Hampshire Golf from under 14s to Colt level.

As a year 1 trainee Professional, I am passionate about developing my teaching skills and growing as a Professional to help others reach their full potential in their golf game. My goal is to become a coach who empowers individuals to build confidence and unlock a golfer’s ability to improve their golf game. Whether this involves long game teaching to fine tuning short game around the greens or on the green, my aim is to help you grow your golf game.
