With 30 years of coaching experience, Pete has built up the knowledge to deliver well structured and effective coaching sessions for all abilities of player. His accreditations and achievements as a professional identify that Pete is devoted to the long term development of golf tuition. He has trained a number of professionals to work alongside him, who are both invaluable and assets to Barton-on-Sea Golf Club.

Barton Junior Members - Lesson Rate

All three Pros offer a discounted lesson rate for Barton Junior Members, which is £19.00 per ½ hour lesson.

John Bullen

John has been working for Peter Rodgers Golf Limited, as Peter's PGA Head Assistant Professional since 1999, and recently also became his Head Club Fitter.  Before that, they worked together for 3 years, Pete as the PGA Head Assistant, while John was completing his 3-year PGA qualification, under the Head PGA Professional at the time, Pat Coombes.

Before joining Barton, John first had a taste for the golf club industry working at Sudbury Golf Club in Wembley, working with European tour coach Neil Jordan.

John has developed his own style and coaching philosophies to adapt to all levels of golfers.  His passion and knowledge for teaching all aspects of the game, have earned him a good reputation across the county.

Whether it be long or short game information you require, John offers 30 min or 1-hour lessons.  Video analysis is also available in our indoor studio.

Finbar Kane

Finbar has completed his Level 2 training and is in the process of completing the third and final stage of his training. 

Finbar has his goal set on making it to the tour in the near future, with guidance from Head Professional Peter Rodgers and Head Assistant John Bullen who have taught Finbar the game since the age of 4. Within this tournament year, Finbar has achieved 10 Professional wins, 6 of them at the National and Regional, 4 Hampshire PGA levels.

With just over 2 years of coaching experience, Finbar offers a modern coaching approach as well as a large passion for improving everyone's game to full potential.

Chris Coleman

Chris was a junior member at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club where he played off a 5 handicap.  A keen golfer in his formative years, he represented Wiltshire at colt level during the 1970s and won the Club Championship there in 1974.  Chris gained a B.Ed. degree at King Alfred's College, Winchester in 1981 and, shortly after, moved to Bournemouth where he taught for more than 30 years.  Although he doesn't play as much these days, he is still passionate about the game and enjoys working part-time as a member of the Pro Shop team.
